Badges with magnetic stripes: These have a ferromagnetic stripe, either black or coloured, on the back. They must be swiped through a reader to be used.
Badges with contact chips: Contact chip badges provide greater security than magnetic stripes. They are read by inserting the card into a reader.
RFID badges: The RFID card includes a contactless chip, which allows the badge to be read simply by bringing it close to an RFID reader, without any physical contact.
